Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU) is a university in Udon Thani, northeast Thailand. The university was founded in 1923 as the "Teacher Training School in Agriculture Udon Thani". In 1930, the name was changed to "Teacher Training School” (men-only initially). In 1958, it became the "Udon Thani Teachers' Training School". It was upgraded in status to "Udon Thani Teachers' College" in February 1960. Following the Teachers' College Act of 1975, Udon Thani Teachers' College was permitted to offer bachelor's degree programs. In 1992, King Bhumibhol Adulyadej granted the name "Rajabhat Institute" ("Rajabhat" means "people of the king") to teachers' colleges nationwide. In 2003 the Rajabhat University Act was passed. On 15 June 2004, Udon Thani Rajabhat Institute assumed university status and adopted the new name "Udon Thani Rajabhat University".
